Set back from the street, the campanile marks the forecourt to the church conceived as a solid octagonal drum of face-bricks, inside and out. Raked concrete beams span the corners to define a Greek cross on plan, with their intersection over the nave marking the positions of the clerestory lighting to the auditorium. Ventilation is enabled by horizontal openings in the cavity wall at seating level, and the flow of air controlled by wooden louvres. A modern stained-glass design fills the full-height slit-windows in each of the corners. The sanctuary is accented by corbelled brickwork, some of which conceals the admittance of shafts of light.
