DOCKLANDS ROW HOUSES

Patterson Street, Point, Durban, South Africa
Semi-detached, as well as single and double-storeyed row housing was popular, replete with verandas and balustrading. The front garden was usually cut off from the street by a low wall set with decorative cast-iron railings and matching gates. Individual houses were entered through elaborate front doors with stained glass insets and fanlights.
