88 JOE SLOVO STR

Joe Slovo Street & Monty Naicker Street, Durban Central, Durban, South Africa
The tower marks the street corner aside the through-block arcade. It is composed of two concentric octagons, the inner clad in horizontal glass bands and terminating in a spiralling segmented roof, the outer gridded and on the diagonal, spiralling up to the inner to terminate in a mast with a crow’s nest. Other than the doors leading to the terraces, the building is hermetically sealed, requiring a comprehensive air-conditioning system with back-up.
